Side-by-Side Comparison

DeepScript vs Sonix — 50× cheaper per hour, EU-hosted

Sonix charges $10/h, DeepScript €0.18/h — roughly 50× cheaper. For DACH customers, add EU residency and a dialect model.

Sonix is an established US transcription platform with a solid browser editor and 40+ languages. The biggest difference vs DeepScript is price: $10 per hour of audio vs €0.18 (~$0.20) — at comparable accuracy. At 50 hours/month that's $500 vs €9. Sonix' Premium subscription ($22/month including 5 hours) doesn't move the ratio much. For DACH customers, EU residency and DACH dialect model are added bonuses.

Frequently asked questions

Why is DeepScript so much cheaper than Sonix?

We run the transcription engine on our own GPUs in Nuremberg, not via AWS. That removes the cloud margin and US distribution overhead. Sonix also builds a browser editor + collaboration layer that has to be funded. DeepScript focuses on the pipeline use-case (upload → result) and passes the savings on.

Does DeepScript have a multi-user editor like Sonix?

No. We have a solo editor with search, inline correction and export, but no live co-editing. For collaborative editing, export as .docx and work in Word/Google Docs, or use Sonix for that step. Most of our customers edit transcripts solo (journalists, lawyers, researchers) — they don't miss anything.

Is DeepScript's accuracy really comparable to Sonix?

On clean English very similar (>95% word accuracy). On DACH dialects DeepScript Premium is clearly ahead — Sonix' model is primarily tuned for US English. Best to spot-check with our 3 free transcriptions.

How does Sonix → DeepScript migration work?

Sonix exports .txt, .docx and .srt from the editor. Drop those into DeepScript as-is, or re-transcribe the originals (Premium with DACH dialect model for higher accuracy). For bulk migrations we'll happily build an importer.
